I’ve seen so many inspiring gallery walls lately on different blogs and all over pinterest, so I thought it was time to start building my own.
We’re not ready to spend money on art, but I was able to walk around my apartment and my parents’ house and find some cool pieces. No really, I just walked around and found art.
I thought I could use the washi tape method of hanging prints, but FYI – it doesn’t hold paper up on the wall very well. Not sure how so many bloggers make it look good, but it just doesn’t work… I washi-taped the smaller items and just used scotch tape or sticky tac on the back of the bigger prints.
Can’t wait to keep adding to the wall! I’ll share another post with some of the pieces I’m hoping to buy soon…
Apology ahead of time – my apartment is really dark/ I need to work on my photography skills. Trying my best with an iphone here…
The finished product – pretty random and fun.
- One of my friends did her own calligraphy for her wedding invitations. The envelope was so beautiful, I had to save it!
- My sister painted this in high school at an art camp. We love fish in the Wilson house, so I stole it during their move π
- “i’m always your number one fan” card I bought for Eric in Chelsea Market. We restored a vintage fan so it was pretty perfect π
- My grandma painted this watercolor! She’s super talented π
- We received this little framed medallion as a wedding gift from Eric’s cousin. Finally have a place to put it!
- Another one of my grandma’s watercolor paintings
- Target! had to have it.
Here’s the wall I did in my sister’s new room since she moved back from NJ:
- picture of us when we were little in front of a huge cherry blossom tree
- Stef’s friend drew this pic of her for her high school graduation
- 14-year old braces Stefanie
- a frustrated cat card

- something pink
- campaign poster from Stef’s high school run for student body president

More inspiration if you need it π
