Wow, can’t believe it’s been two weeks already. Time has been flying by. I don’t remember exactly what happened other than my birthday, so let’s see what pictures I dig up on my phone.

It has been so rainy lately. And not in a summer thunderstorms way. Just every day it’s raining. Fortunately by the 19th, it cleared up so we could start enjoying summer for real, but we hadn’t seen the sun in so long. Usually I’m tan by this point in the year because I’m outside with the dogs in the morning, but I’ve been wearing sweatshirts!
Then it was the last day of school! And we went for ice cream and found one of Henry’s best friends at the ice cream shop!
They are so cute together, and also crazy because boys.

We have a great little beach near our house, and we get to play in the sand alal day long for free 😊 Typically, you have to join a beach club, but this comes with the town. It’s just sand and the lake, but usually that’s enough for boys. Our summer plans are always just to spend as much time here as possible.

Our other summer plans are always riding bikes on the trails. We usually do this every Friday starting in March! But, again it’s been raining non-stop since March, so I remembered this is our routine, and we’re back on it. Henry’s getting so good with the balance bike, it’s probably time to start him on a real bike. The problem is that I don’t really ride bikes, so I don’t know what we’re going to do. Also a real bike is too heavy for me to carry for miles off the trail when he decides he doesn’t want to ride anymore.

We go for donuts on Fridays after the park most of the time 😊 and they have this landscaped area with giant boulders that Henry thinks is also a park.

Henry finally got to wear his Stitch matching set to watch Lilo and Stitch in the movie theater. It released so long ago, that we were almost the only people in the theater. I liked the movie for the most part, but we were all sobbing at the end. Something about the alien resigning himself to drown really put us all over the edge.

Then it was my birthday! And of course Lucie’s birthday. So I used this as an opportunity to get back into running lol. I alway take Lucie for a run on her birthday because she just loves it so much. And we did have fun. I’m sure Lucie wished Theo didn’t have to be there.

Then, Eric and I went to see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler!! I saw they would be in NJ on my birthday and knew I had to be there. It was so funny, and I just love them both so much.

It’s Henry’s “summer break” this week, so we went to the beach most days and tried to meet up with friends as much as possible. Here’s Henry lying in the grass pretending to be dead Mufasa while his friend is the hyena eating him… so that’s fun. We also went on Monday by ourselves, and he went with my MIL on Wednesday. Then…

Thursday of Summer Break was supposed to be rainy, and I had a quilt I needed to finish for a baby shower, so I let Henry watch way too much TV and play too much Minecraft, while I quilted. I know it’s not the best parenting, but he had fun. And in honor of the 90s summer, we also had a few days where we just played Nintendo, so I try not to be too crazy.

On Friday, we got to go to the lake fireworks at a friend’s house, so we rode the boat over there, and Henry is not exactly a fan of boat rides, but he’s getting there. Of course, it was 60 degrees again, but it’s better than the heat wave from earlier in the week.

Here’s the quilt I finished! The blog post will be up soon, but I loved it. And I’m obsessed with the beige Essex Homespun I used. More on that in the actual post for the quilt.

While I was at the baby shower yesterday, Eric and Henry worked on getting all this honey out of the comb! And Eric melted it down for beeswax. I got to use it in a recipe right away!

Then we celebrated my birthday with my parents because we hadn’t managed to get together on my birthday with all my other plans going on and the crazy summer.
And that’s it! Being 35 has been pretty great so far 😊 (Yes, I’m a peak millennial). And I can’t wait for the rest of the summer!
