As some of you know, I turned 27 last week. I planned on writing a little birthday post about my life and updates and all that… but sometimes those get a little depressing, so instead I’ll show you some fun photos of my birthday brunch party.
The funny thing is… I knew I was going to write this post, as well as a post for the Cafe Pierrot Blog about breakfast brunches/ catering…. but I didn’t really take that many photos :/ Oh well. Here’s the best I could do.
It was so fun, and my friends bought me such cute gifts. Seriously a fun day sitting in the sun and chatting with these ladies. I definitely want to plan more throughout the year. Maybe once a month? I do love brunch….
One of my friends bought me the CUTEST mini party hat from francesca’s…. and here I am posing with the French Toast haha. So yummy! We ended up only having around 10 people at the party, so there was a lot of yummy food 🙂
Stef made pancakes for everyone! And then she took everyone’s omelet orders and made omelets for all the guests! She’s working up in Maine during the week, and then her flight was cancelled! So she drove down from Maine and got to NJ at 11pm the night before. We made some silly dance videos and baked the donuts!
The vanilla donuts are actually gluten-free funfetti donuts with rainbow and gold sprinkles! Then we used a chocolate donut recipe with diamond sprinkles from Target!
Stef’s cute dress is from Urban Outfitters!
And I’m wearing a one of Stef’s Lilly Pulitzer skirts!
Dragon Fruit Strawberry Banana Popsicles
1 can full-fat coconut milk
2 packs Pitaya Plus Dragon Fruit Smoothie packs
2 bananas
a bunch of strawberries?? I just kept throwing them in there
Blend it together like a smoothie, pour into the popsicle molds and freeze overnight! There was a little left over, so I drank it like a smoothie, and it was delicious 🙂
At the health food store where I bought the dragon fruit smoothie packs, the employee told me that dragon fruit doesn’t have a ton of flavor. So these really taste like strawberry banana pops, but they’re bright pink! and it’s a natural color! It’s so cool that God put magenta in nature 🙂
I was inspired by this popsicle recipe from Glitter Guide, but my sis and cousin don’t like coconut flakes, so I didn’t add those
Stef was ready to eat the props in my instagram photo… notice that the photo I posted has fewer donuts….
We also had a sugar scrub station with mason jars, essential oils, and large containers of sugars, coconut oil, and coffee to make the perfect exfoliating scrubs. And of course, the cutest part, mini wooden scoops for the mixture once it was in the jar: I bought the 10-pack of these on amazon.com
I found a few cool recipes on pinterest, and these are my favorites:
Sugar Scrub Basic:
1 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Coconut Oil
8 drops of Essential Oil
- This is really just a recommendation to get you started. Mix together and add sugar or coconut oil until you get the consistency you want… we added more essential oil because we wanted a stronger scent 🙂
- I’m pretty sure I made lavender lemon
Coffee Sugar Scrub
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1/3 cup Coffee Grounds
1/3 cup Coconut Oil
- I bought a very large amount of cheap coffee grounds from BJs, and only one person made this one… so I’ll probably be making some coffee scrub gifts
Lavender Vanilla Sugar Scrub
This one was definitely a favorite for the guests:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon real vanilla extract
15 drops lavender essential oil
And because I didn’t have enough sugar, I got this venti mocha mint frappuccino for my birthday 🙂
Stef bought this pretty thermos for me! Perfect size since I drink a lots and lots of coffee!!
Anyway, that was my birthday party! Hope you’re having a great start to the summer and getting excited for the 4th!!
